Adam Sijilmassi a tout pour être heureux, à commencer par son métier d'ingénieur à l'Office des bitumes du Talda qui fait de lui un homme important et respecté à Casablanca. Lassé d'une vie à toute vitesse, Adam décide de retrouver une vie plus proche de ses convictions philosophiques forgées par son éducation à la française. Il viderait sa tête de tout ce fatras de fragments de littérature française qui lui compliquait la vie. Il redeviendrait le Marocain authentique qu'il n'aurait jamais dû cesser d'être. Il partit à pied vers son village natal jusqu'au riad familial dans lequel il se retire pour méditer. Son attitude hors normes le rend suspect aussi bien pour son entourage que pour les autorités. Serait-il fou? Ou un perturbateur? Ou un prophète? Doit-il être vénére ou tué? Adam Sijilmassi has everything to be happy, starting with his work as an engineer at the Office of bitumen Talda making it an important and respected man in Casablanca. Tired of a life at full speed, Adam decides to find a closer to his philosophical beliefs shaped by his education in French life. He would empty his head of all the jumble of fragments of French literature which complicated his life. He would return to the authentic Moroccan he would never have ceased to be. He sets out on foot for his native village and his family's traditional Moroccan house in which he retires to meditate. But his unconventional behavior renders him suspect to both his neighbors and the authorities. Is he mad? Or disruptive? Or a prophet? Should he be venerated or killed?
