Sumptuously illuminated Evangeliary by Johann von Troppau who was a Bohemian priest, and canon of Brno. He is believed to have both written and illuminated this manuscript which was completed in about 1368. It is likely to have been commissioned by Duke Albert II of Austria for his son-in-law, Emperor Charles IV.
