Description:
The Atlas is an ilustrated manual of clinical and laboratory techniques for the fabrication of partial veneer cast crowns. It is organized with full page and panels of excellent color photographs with instructional captions. Russel Basset use to say that it was simple to use, that "It's just like a comic book. Just follow the pictures. You don't even have to read it to get it right." The laboratory portions cover specific materials and equipment, illustrated techniques in waxing and finishing. The clinical portions include anterior pin-ledge esthetic preparations and fabrication, the 3/4 partial veneer, and cement venting for full veneer crowns. The clinical portion includes simple and straight forward illustrated techniques for cementing and finishing the restorations. There is a transparancy overlay of occlusal contacts for full arches, and attention to full mouth reconstruction using cast gold. An addendum for marginal overwaxing was added in 1969.
