Description:

Morley Roberts was one of W. H. Hudson's closest friends. Their friendship began many years after Hudson has written his "autobiography" i.e. Far Away and Long Ago. Hudson was 39 when he met Roberts who was some 14 years younger. The "Portrait" may, perhaps, be a little biased because of the close friendship that linked these two persons, but one can hardly blame Roberts because one tends to see some of ourselves in the people we love. This been said, I recommend this exciting book to all Hudson's lovers and to anyone who would want to know more about the life and secret qualities of this great Argentine (by birth) ornithologist and writer as was William Henry Hudson, a bird and nature lover who could 'read' the birds' thoughts and 'understand' their songs.
