Description:

The true story of the assassination of Front de Libération du Québec member Mario Bachand, in Paris, the 29th of March, 1971. Bachand had been a member of the first wave of the FLQ, in Montreal in 1963. In 1969, he fled to Cuba. In April, 1970, he went to Paris. On the 29th of March, 1971, he was found shot to death in his shared apartment at 46 rue Eugène-Lumeau, in the suburb of St. Ouen. Investigators of the Brigade Criminelle de Paris apparently were unable to solve the crime. "Last Stop, Paris" details the terrorist background of Bachand, activities of the RCMP Security Service, involvement of French and British intelligence services and the history of the FLQ. It names Bachand's killers,as well as intelligence service officers, officials and government leaders who directed them. It is arguably the most complete story of a state assassination.
