A trilogy of tales.In the first of these, the title story, a claimant at an employment office drops dead but one particular limb refuses to lie still. 'A Visit to the Great Author's Birthplace' is a skit on the tacky commercialism surrounding the birthplace in 'Shropsford' of a certain fictional author, 'Walter Fielding Fookes'. Finally 'Meatfly' concerns the domestic crisis when a Sunday dinner is intruded upon by a fly.
