requiring him as such, to do the author justice, in paying, or seeing it done by others, some back salary that he claims, as heretofore attorney general, and judge of common pleas, in Canada : and submitting to his consideration, whether some tax bills modelled on the plan pointed out, would not produce much more to the State, than what they at present do, and so be a means of lowering the tax on wine, that the author may drink it again at a reasonable price
