Description:
A description of Reverend William Davies Evans' voyage from West Wales to the U.S.A. and details of his journey from New York to San Francisco during the later part of the 19th century. He had travelled from Wales to America on several occasions and he and his brother, Lewis, enrolled as civilians in the American Civil War. There is a vivid account of their experiences in the book. Being bilingual (Welsh and English) was an asset to them during that time. Evans relates about many other events and experiences during his peregrination. His descriptions make life during that period of history very real.
