This book aims at documenting recent developments in standard-based systems for processing, archiving, managing and distributing Earth Observation data and derived information products. On-going standards efforts that influence how these data and information systems operate are presented. Some recent developments in geospatial knowledge systems are discussed and a methodology to encourage technology infusion into operational systems is presented.
