She becomes involved in the work of drawing up plans for an important invention, and a spy tries to steal them. 3. Her Final Choice takes place in Rumania, when the Austrians were advancing into the country. A beautiful girl refuses to leave her place in the hospital when the invading soldiers were coming. 4. The Haunted Well is a story about how a young girl helps to save the situation when submarines threaten shipping off the coast of Devon.
