The purchase right of the continental legal systems are based on the rule of the Roman Treaty "emptio venditio". Even the English law was not affected. Roman lawyers determined what a contract of sale. The ancient Roman rules, since the Middle Ages laid the foundations of legal developments. These include the buyer protection against defects as well as the rate of transition of immediate danger. Everywhere in Europe modern law is the result of a productive debate about the appropriateness of the Roman regulations.
