Description:

A heart warming story about a French Airedale Terrier named Pierre owned by Sarah Bernhardt in the early days of World War I. While Sarah Bernhardt is on tour in America to raise money for the French war effort, Pierre gets loose and discovers that the free life style is not all he expected. Fortunately for young Pierre after several months on his own, he is reunited with Bernhardt back in France. But his comfortable life is short lived when Pierre is recruited by the French Army to haul ammunition carts to embattled soldiers fighting in the trenches. After many harrowing experiences, Pierre is called upon to carry an urgent message across the battlefield to headquarters which saves a division of French soldiers from being captured by the German forces. Following Pierre’s recovery from his injuries, he is sent back to an ailing Sarah Bernhardt to live out his life.
