Description:

This is a art exhibit book published to coincide with the "Mark Mothersbaugh: Myopia" art exhibit, at the 'Museum of Contemporty Art Denver' from November 2014 - May 2015. There is a look into his early art, from journals, and diaries, as well as early examples of what would be his first book "My Struggle" written under the name Booji Boy. There are essays about various aspects of his art, a interview, and even photographs of his sculputeres, and his giving antique photographs a mirror effect, calling the images "Beautiful Mutants". Many of these images were also collected into a book with the same name. There are images of him and the band Devo, as well as many examples of his post card art, which had already serpassed a collection of 30,000 cards. A few of these postcards were also reproduced in the postcard box set, "Mark Mothersbaugh: Collected Facts & Lies", a box set of 50 reproduction postcards, also published by Princeton Architectural Press, for this event. There are three postcards in that set that do not appear in this book. This book also mentions Mark's composing music for films, as well as his interst in rugs, his character Roli Polis, and other artist projects. There are mini biographies about the contributors to the book, a timeline of Mark's life, a list of "works" featured in the book, as well as listing whom took the photographs of each of the images. This book originally sold for $40.00 in the USA, and £25.00 in the UK.
