** (Amazon Review): ThatHollie, 4.0 out of 5 stars Tweety and Sylvester travel the globe January 25, 2012 ** A scientist creates a Magic Voice gas which, when inhaled, causes you to have a fantastic singing voice. Granny and Tweety (inadvertently) use a capsule of Magic Voice to win a singing contest, winning a trip around the world. Each chapter of the book follows them to a new international location. They are being followed, however, by a tiresome villain who wants to use the Magic Voice to rule the world. This villain has a tendency to want to tie up Sylvester, and Granny finds it necessary, on occasion, to whack him over the head with her purse. (These two plot points are the only ones I noticed that you may find unsuitable for younger children, although I am sure that they did not violate standards for children's comics in the 1970s.) The illustrations are nice, although in the paperback Big Little Books they are black-and-white only. Did we learn anything about all the countries visited? Perhaps, if you don't know that Venice is in Italy and has canals for streets, for example. (Reviewer: ThatHollie)
