Description:
The Indiana University Archives of Traditional Music (ATM) and the Archive of World Music (AWM) at Harvard University with funding from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) have undertaken a joint technical archiving project. Sound directions is a collaborative research and development initiative whose goal is to create best practices and to test emerging standards for digital preservation of archival audio. The site presents an overview of the project, a modified version of the "project narrative" submitted to NEH, a summary of "goals for standards and best practices," and a slide show.
