Study of the history and present state of naïf art in Santiago de Cuba. Provides scarce information on this spontaneous painting style that has largely been discriminated against and excluded from the Caribbean artistic arena. Artists mentioned include names already established like: Luis Joaquín Rodríguez Arias, Lawrence Zúñiga, Roberto Torres Lameda, Luis Alberto Villalón Rades, Richard Bruff Bruff, along with a growing number of younger naïve painters like: Disney Puente Mejía (II Frente), Isabel Alvarez Betancourt (La Maya), Eudides Marcel Hernández (Yerba de Guinea), Darcio Monteagudo (Guamá) and Daniel Alvarez Arias (Mella).
