Catalogue on the Talavera ceramic work of Puebla, Mexico. In the first section information on the ordinance regarding the 16th century ceramic industry of Puebla and the history of Talavera de la Reyna and in a second section presents examples of flower-pots, sculptures, mosaics, platters and vessels created by artists that integrated this artistic tradition with contemporary designs, and that include names like Francisco Toledo,Paloma Torres, Juan Soriano, Magali Lara, Raymundo Sesma, Fernando González Gortzar and Vicente Rojo, amongst others. The catalogue title Alarca represents the name of the varnish or enamel of the Talavera ceramic, a mixture of minerals and sand exposed to fire originally from Mesopotamia.
