As a memoir, it certainly does highlight important (occasionally amazing) events in the author's life - some are quite funny, some are frightening, some can make one's blood boil, while others can draw tears to the reader's eyes. But also, through reading this book, one gets a very good feel for what life is like as a radio broadcasting personality. One also learns of the power that radio can have when properly steered; in this regard, the responsibilities of a good talk show host become clear. The manner in which the ratings system works is discussed; as is the occasionally non-intuitive ways that listenership can vary. The writing style is clear and quite engaging - this book is extremely difficult to put down. Absolutely everyone can enjoy reading it, whether one is a local regular listener of the Lowell Green Show or someone far away who has never heard of it; people will be people and there are all kinds in this world, as is made all too clear in this superb book. I am now going to seek out Lowell Green's other books.
