Description:
The first hospital, under the watchful eye of Fr. Berghold, was dedicated in November 1883. The building was 36 x 36 feet, two stories high, plus a basement. The first floor contained six patient rooms heated by stoves in the hallways. The Sisters of Christian Charity were in charge of the hospital. History of The St. Alexander Hospital and Home is a collection of historical documents about the founding, development and the people behind the St. Alexander Hospital and the Home for the Aged in New Ulm, Minnesota.
