Description:
Coming from the western medieval world, the legend of Tristan and Yseut remains a reference, giving a tone of absolute to the love, the passion that binds two beings. Although Tristan's character has often been analyzed, few detailed literary studies have highlighted the character of Yseut. Yseut: life, death, renewal tries to understand this triple character in the light of CG Jung's research on the collective unconscious and, in particular, on the feminine principle. Yseut illustrates the different facets of love, the different roles of women, showing how feminine is creative, healing, as well as destructive. The exploration of the mythological antecedents that helped to forge the character of Yseut, the comparisons between different versions, between similar myths, the search for narrative patterns and symbols, the amplification of elements or images characterizing Yseut: as many 'in-depth analyzes so that the meaning of this character can be visualized, disengaged and universalized. Or, in Jungian terms, for the archetype to emerge from the collective unconscious. Through this work, a bridge is thrown between literature and the theory of archetypes as conceived CG Jung, that is to say directly related to the analysis of myths.--Publisher's presentation.
