Ḥawlīyāt al-Rāhib al-Qarṭmīnī

Description:

Arabic version of part of the chronicle of Mar Gavriyel Monastery, also known as Qarṭmīn Monastery, in Ṭur ʻAbdin, Turkey. The chronicle is known in Syriac as Makhlanuta de-zavne Suryaita. It was published as Chronica Minora I-III in Corpus Scriptorum Christianorum Orientalium. Scriptores Syri, t. 5. It is also known as the Qarṭmīn Trilogy. The editor ascribes the work to Manṣūr ibn Marzūq al-Bāsbirīnī, a 9th century abbott of the monastery, although most scholars give it an anonymous attribution.
