În anul 2009, Universitatea de Vest din Timisoara i-a acordat profesorului Peter Gross titlul de Doctor Honoris Causa One of the most important personalities, who linked their name to the establishment of journalism specialization, at the West University of Timisoara, in 1992, is the American professor Peter Gross, Timisoara native, journalist and professor of journalism, communication specialist and analyst of media systems in the countries of the former communist bloc. In 2009, the West University of Timisoara awarded Professor Peter Gross the title of Doctor Honoris Causa
