Collection of essays in honor of Serge Gilles (1935), Haitian politician, leader of the leftist Fusion of Haitian Social Democrats political party. He was a collaborator with Che Guevara. He spent 25 years in exile before returning to Haiti in 1986. He became leader of the Fusion party beginning 2005 and was fielded as their candidate for president but lost to René Préval.
