Description:
Guide to the pilgrimage places and Buddhist shrines in and around Trethapuri (Tirthapuri) in Ngari Diqu (Tib. Mngaʼ-ris), Tibet Autonomous Region, or western Tibet. Trethapuri (Tirthapuri) is regarded as the third most important Buddhist pilgrimage site in western Tibet, following Mt. Kailash and Lake Manasarovar. It is situated at the northwest of Mt. Kailash and the north bank of the Sutlej River and is famous for its sacred hot springs and Guru Rinpoche monastery (Tirthapuri monastery).
