History of Rgan-gya (Ch. Ganjia Xiang), a largely Tibetan nomadic area in Xiahe County, Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Gansu Province, and its tribes, historical figures and institutions; includes successive biographies of the female dakini-protector lineage (i.e. the Gung-ru sku phreng) and other religious hierarchs, with lists of visits by famous Tibetan lamas. This area is also part of the traditional Tibetan region of Amdo (A-mdo ; Ch. Anduo).
