Hoax is a compilation zine created by crg (who, in issue 4, outs hirself as Sari, author of "You've Got a Friend in Pennsylvania") and Rachel that discusses feminism "in relation to different aspects of day-to-day life." Issue 4 centers on the theme of "hirstories," individual narratives of feminist heroes such Sylvia Plath, finding feminism in one's own life, their generation's relationship with riot grrrl, and reconciling multiple identities with one's feminist beliefs. Topics include being a young "drag hag," witchcraft, transnational/global feminism, triggers, sex tourism, being a Christian feminist, and historical views of women in ancient Rome among many others. As with all other issues, this zine also includes recipes, comics, and a section on "Unsung Feminist Heroes."
