Description:

Over the last decade, governments around the world have invested heavily in e-government--technology solutions designed to improve service delivery and realize cost efficiencies. Today, public service organizations have begun developing strategies for e-governance using technology not only to enhance efficiency and effectiveness, but also to strengthen relationships with citizens. To learn more about what citizens expect and can contribute, the Accenture Institute for Health & Public Service Value has been conducting the Global Cities Forum. Through this ongoing international study, the Institute has learned that people do indeed want richer, more collaborative relationships with government. In From e-Government to e-Governance, we identify actionable e-governance strategies for addressing the four components of the framework: focus on outcomes, balance, engagement and accountability. Just as important, we share numerous examples that illustrate how government organizations around the globe are already using e-governance strategies and solutions to more effectively engage with those they serve.
