Thirty-four enlistees of Company G, out of the total of 99, were residents of Marion (28) & Carbondale (6), Illinois. The other 65 enlistees were from western Kentucky, middle Tennessee, east Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Missouri & Minnesota. Company G was dissolved and its regiment, the 15th, became a part of the 37th Tennessee Infantry on 6 June 1863.
