Description:
The study was concerned with identifying those factors and satisfactions that influence enlisted men to stay in the Naval Reserve. ... The results of the study suggest that similar studies at other reserve centers could be of value to their respective commanding officers. By knowing which factors affect retention in their reserve centers, commanding officers could take appropriate action to improve retention of enlisted men and reduce the cost of training and high turnover. Maintaining numerical strength under conditions that promote satisfactions would greatly improve the present organizational effectiveness of the units involved and alone would enhance their mobilization readiness posture.
