Description:
First person description of the war between Prussia and Austria against Denmark over the principalities of Schleswig and Holstein from the perspective of a well-traveled British journalist. Written in travelog/diary format, it provides many observations of both sides of the conflict, and is filled will political, cultural and travel insights from the period. Readers will prefer the .pdf version of this text to a digitally transcribed version, as the latter can be rife with uncorrected errors that will frustrate a reader not able to read past such mistakes. As such, the digital versions may be unsuitable for scholarly research, which is regrettable, as this is a valuable narrative from this obscure period in German/Danish political history.
