Description:

The title is descriptive. This textbook is a basic overview of social-science research methodology for clergy who are studying for the Doctor of Ministry degree. It covers the entire process of writing a dissertation, including basic information about statistical analysis, a field with which most clergy are unacquainted. The book includes many concrete examples drawn from academic articles, academic theses and unpublished research. It has no theological or doctrinal bias and gives examples from a wide variety of denominations and faiths. It was written prior to the personal computer revolution. Consequently, computer and internet-based resources are not mentioned. Likewise, research examples are from 1984 and before.
