Description:
This is a scholarly work which examines how increased availability of information can assist the mineral exploration process and potentially accelerate the discovery of new mineral ore bodies. The paper uses case studies to illustrate potential inefficiencies in mineral exploration when access to all available data and previous exploration results is prevented or delayed. Such inefficiencies may include duplication of effort or delay in mineral ore body discovovery.
