I first read this book as a kid, and was very inspired with the model railways/railroad based upon a fictional New Zealand narrow gauge Tram line. The scale and gauage is HOn30/00-9, (HO scale 1:87 running on N gauge wheelsets 9mm between the rails). I highly recommend it if you are looking at modeling narrow gauge model railroads.
