Description:
American Revolutionary is a biography of the Scottish American Revolutionary War politician and General from New York. The book is about his life and times rather than focusing solely on the major historical events which he was involved in, but those are nice explained in the context of the time. In my view the author William L MacDougall (d. Dec. 2021) wrote an excellent portrayal of this man and his efforts before, during, and after the American Revolution. His use of original sources makes the story accurate and credible. The history is well told and readable (there is only a sentence describing the topography the island of Islay of it that I would correct for accuracy). The book has not been republished since being printed in 1975 in hard cover and I would like to help a non-profit 501(c)3 organization to republish it. - S MacDougald, February 9, 2023
