Description:
Julie has a sturdy North Country background, a down-to-earth father, and plenty of common sense. But she never uses her head. “Think first, Julie,” says her father when he goes abroad and leaves her for the first time. But Julie never does. On an impulse she moves to London, and shares a flat with a society girl and lives in a daze of parties. When she leaves that, it is only to land on a Mediterranean island near Capri with a job in the wealthy upside-down world of international film stars. She meets a journalist, an onlooker among the film people as she is herself, and falls deeply in love with him. But their love story, like Julie’s life, is full of obstacles raised by the complex rich people they live amongst, by the journalist’s penniless young brother, and not least by Julie’s own hot-headed self.
