Description:
The founder of the Bowdoin family in North America was Pierre Baudoin. He and his wife Elizabeth (c. 1643-1720) has four children, the first three born in France and the fourth probably in North America. In 1686 Pierre and his family moved to North America. At first, they settled in Salem, Massachusetts. Later, they went to Maine and then to Boston, Massachusetts, where Pierre died in 1704. Descendants lived in Massachusetts, New York and elsewhere.
