Menjou was the classic archetype of a dastardly cad for much of his movie career. This impression was aided by his mustache which seemed to curl at the ends like a roadshow Simon Legree. If you like old movies, but cannot place the name you will immediately recognize his picture. One stand out role was in *Stage Door* as the lecherous stage producer. For me, this work was kind of a bust because much of it focused on his career in silents and early talkies. Given it was written in 1948, it contains nothing about Menjou's very central role in creating *Red Channels* and the blacklist of suspected communists. All that really came in 1950. Has a photograph section. The title relates to Menjou's reputation as a fashion plate.
