Description:
The Battle of Frenchtown was also known as the Battle of the River Raisin, and was fought in present-day Monroe. This article is in a pamphlet with several other articles, and page numbers are confusing. Go to the first page #2, and then go to the previous page. This is an article that begins with an account of the battle, which is mainly in the third person and reflects the author’s presence there as well as a reading knowledge of the battle. When the battle is over, Dudley switches to a first-person account of his experiences after being wounded and taken prisoner by Indians.
