Description:
Gordon is a big Express Engine who likes to pull the Express. One day, Gordon was bragging to Edward, but Edward didn't care, he ignored him. Then, Gordon came by with a goods train looking very cross. Edward had to push Gordon up the hill. That night, the Fat Controller had given Edward a new coat of blue paint with red stripes. The next day, Gordon was bragging to Henry. He says that he whistles too much and says that respectable engines never whistle at stations. But Gordon was whistling fit to burst as he screeched through the station and disappeared. Meanwhile, Gordon was screeching along the line. The Fat Controller sent Gordon away in disgrace. Two fitters climbed up and knocked his whistle valve in place, and there was silence. Gordon hoped that the shed would be empty. But the other engines said: "It isn't wrong, but we just don't do it." From then on, Gordon felt like a quieter engine, for a few days, anyway.
