Description:

Five generations of the Davis family were shipwrights on the Chesapeake Bay. John Davis, who was shipbuilding at St. Michaels in Talbot County, Maryland in 1800, is believed to be the first. The ship- building accomplishments of the Davis family are detailed through the time of Clarence Davis who died in 1936. Descendants and relatives lived in various locations on the Chesapeake Bay.
