This is an authentic collection of letters written by Laura Washabaugh of Bedford, Pa. to her fiance, Dr. George Douglas, Assistant Surgeon, First New York (Lincoln) Cavalry in 1864. Laura was unusually well informed about the progress of the war and the problems faced by Abraham Lincoln. She pleads with Dr. Douglas to vote for Abraham Lincoln in 1864.
