Description:
Based on a true story, the Monkey Motordrome was an animal attraction featuring Rhesus monkeys operating motorized cars within the confines of the motordrome track. In 1965, in this fictionalized account, this traveling show is brought to Bridgehaven, New York. The extended family that owns and operates this attraction draws as much curiosity as their Motordrome shows, especially when it is discovered the family also runs an after hours show featuring a voluptuous female dancer who just happens to be on the lookout for easy marks in the bucolic town of Bridgehaven, New York. You'll meet characters such as: Fenton Bushing, Tse Tse Fly, Buster the giant, several well-trained monkeys, and Georgia Wheeler - member of the Wheeler family operation. Monkey Motordrome is based on the true testimony of a man who not only appears in this story by permission, but lived next door to the real Wheeler clan during the summer of 1965; a summer that would see all of the trained monkeys meet a violent end at the hands of State Troopers. This book contains adult material not suitable for children.
